  • Court Refuses to Block Executive Order Barring ‘Racially Discriminatory DEI Activities’ by Federal Contractors

    On October 14, 2026, the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland declined to preliminarily enjoin President Donald Trump’s executive order requiring federal contractors to agree not to engage in “racially discriminatory” diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) activities, or to stay related Federal Acquisition Regulatory (FAR) Council guidance.

    On August 20, 2026, the Small Business Administration (SBA) published a proposed rule that would fundamentally restructure the way the agency establishes small business size standards for federal contracting and lending programs. 

  • Critical Suppliers Prize Competition

    SBA is offering up to $20 million in targeted and mission-aligned prize awards that will bring innovation to our manufacturing base and rapidly expand production capacity in areas identified as critical supply chain chokepoints.   There is no fee for entry. Submissions should be emailed directly to investinnovate@sba.gov by August 28, 2026, 11:59 pm ET to be considered.
