Maryland awards nearly $7M to build out tech infrastructure across the state

The Maryland Department of Commerce received over 80 applications for the latest round of the Build Our Future Program, which launched in 2023 under Gov. Wes Moore’s Innovation Economy Infrastructure Act.

The program awards private companies, nonprofits, local governments or universities up to $2 million in matching funds for projects. Awardees in fiscal year 2026 included Blackbird Laboratories, which landed $750,000 to support a new facility within its life sciences incubator in Baltimore and Ten One Aerospace, which received $200,000 to expand an existing laboratory for flight tests in Anne Arundel County.
