SMMCOC and Maryland APEX Accelerator Launch Government Contracting Capstone Program

College Park, MD - October 8, 2024 - ​The Southern Maryland Minority Chamber of Commerce (SMMCOC), in collaboration with the Maryland APEX Accelerator, is proud to announce the launch of a four month Government Contracting Capstone Program. This exciting initiative, made possible by an Earmark from Senator Ben Cardin, is designed to empower small businesses and entrepreneurs by providing them with the tools and knowledge needed to excel in the Federal marketplace.

The Capstone Program is led by Judy Bradt, CEO of Summit Insight and author of Amazon's #1 Bestseller "Government Contracts Made Easier". Bradt's expertise and the program's comprehensive approach will help participants elevate their government contracting efforts and achieve strategic growth.

The Capstone Program is open to businesses across all industries, with a focus on those in government contracting-heavy sectors such as IT, construction, logistics, and professional services.

About Maryland APEX Accelerator

The mission of the Maryland APEX Accelerator is to help position businesses registered in the state of Maryland to fully compete in federal, state, and local government procurement processes. The Program was authorized by Congress in 1985 in an effort to assist small businesses in participating in the Government Marketplace. The Maryland APEX Accelerator opened its doors in 2002 and is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the Department of Defense and hosted by the University of Maryland in College Park.
